It’s an old joke, but where did it come from? It’s been used in pretty much everything from SNL, to the Office, to countless movies and jokes between friends. But we’ll have to go back a ways to find it’s origin. During the early 1900s in Britain, actresses often had to supplement their income by turning to prostitution. And because of the extreme Catholicism in England, the joke started out as “said the actress to the bishop.” The phrase took on a few adaptations after crossing the pond, such as “as the girl said to the soldier,” and finally, “that’s what she said.” The first time it ever appeared on film is back in 1928 in an audio test for an Alfred Hitchcock talkie. Check it out…

Zima was a clear alcoholic beverage introduced to the world in 1993 and was promoted as a, believe it or not, “sophisticated” malt liquor. I know, they actually put the word sophisticated next to malt liquor. Much to the dismay of it’s fans, it was discontinued in 2008. But guess what!! It’s coming back! The Miller Coors brewing company is bringing back Zima for a limited time only. There’s no release date as of yet, but it’s looking like it might be this summer! Check out this old cheesy commercial, remember this??
