This Halloween, celebrate spooky season responsibly!

As October 31st approaches, Ottawa Public Health advises NOT to go trick or treating but there still are some great ways to have a fang-tastic Halloween, while staying spook-tacularly socially distant.

Alternatives to trick-or-treating…

  • Organize a virtual costume party
  • Show off costumes to neighbours from a distance
  • Hide Halloween candy in your house or around your yard
  • Watch scary movies with your friends through virtual watch parties

No matter how you celebrate Halloween, remember…

  • Wear a non-medical mask or face covering.
  • Be more outside than inside.
  • If inside, limit it to members of your household or essential support.
  • Wash hands and sanitize often.
  • Get creative with how you hand out candy. Use tongs or make a candy slide!
  • Hand out individually packaged treats instead of a shared bowl
  • And if you still end up going trick or treating, you WON’T get ticketed.
