In a recent interview with Billboard Maren Morris shared she thinks that the walls of traditional country music are coming down.

This stems from her most recent collaborations with Nial Horan and Zedd, both leaning a little bit more to the pop side of things.

Morris isn’t the first country star to dip their feet in pop music waters. Florida Georgia Line has a hit song out with Bebe Rexha titled “Meant to Be”, while Chris Stapleton just teamed up with Justin Timberlake on his new song “Say Something.”

“When I look at songs like the Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line collaboration being so successful at country, it leads me to believe that the boundaries are coming down and people just want quality,” Morris explains. “Fans don’t think that way about the genres, it’s just about good music.”

Morris also isn’t opposed to the idea of working with pop stars like Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Kehlani in the future.
